Generative Selection: one week in!

The first week of my startup journey is over. It feels like it’s been an eternity. I remember not noticing weeks and months passing before — losing them in the routine.

Practically, the diff: the number of our angels signing papers doubled, we got a little bit swamped by other angels and funds willing to chat — nine are scheduled for this week only, and I’m not sure if I can physically fit more to leave some time for deep work and building. We are going to kick off a wet-lab asap, and are actively picking a lab space — there are three-four reasonable options around SF, and we’re still deciding. While the wet-lab is pending, I’ve been iterating over an AI prototype of our future scientific superintelligence. It’s a fun exercise to debug it on a meta question of how it can self-improve, using its own pipeline of its scientific reasoning!

Meanwhile, we’ve been honing our pitch and white paper in numerous discussions, and sanity checks from reality — it’s an exciting journey! Learning more about my co-founder and myself via the 50 questions for co-founders is also a bonus.

We incorporated in Delaware, issued our stocks, and transferred first money to the bank account of Generative Selection Inc. And, of course, we filed a tax form to the IRS by snail mail. The AGI may be coming soon but to incorporate an AGI company one would still have to go to a physical post office, write the IRS address on a paper envelope in ink, and hand it over to another human.

Having the Northern Cardinals on the envelopes is a lucky sign!
